Silversea Cruises to Launch New Entertainment Program

November 06, 2011 10:02 PM

Silversea Cruises is launching a new entertainment program that moves away from traditional production shows to a concert-style concept featuring music from Motown, opera, pop and rock. The concept was created by Choozi Entertainment.

The new entertainment offerings made their debut on the Oct. 24 sailing of Silver Cloud, and more shows are opening this month on Silver Whisper, Silver Wind and Silver Shadow. The program will also be rolled out to Silver Spirit in March.

In the Show Lounge, the show “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” features Motown music with a contemporary feel. “High C’s” will give classical music and arias a fresh twist, in the manner of Il Divo, Josh Groban and Sarah Brightman. The third show, “Fabbalicious,” recreates the sound and look of legendary ’70s Swedish pop group ABBA.

In addition, The Pool Deck will feature pop music and performers portraying music legends in a deck party. The Panorama Lounge will feature performers on each ship showcasing different composers or musicals. Musical selections currently planned are Lennon and McCartney on Silver Cloud; Boublil and Schönberg, the creators of “Miss Saigon” and “Les Misérables” on Silver Whisper; Billy Joel’s songbook from “Movin’ Out” on Silver Wind; and today’s newest musicals on Silver Shadow.
