Sofitel announced a new organizational structure, dividing the company into four regions from three: Europe, the Americas, Middle East & Africa, and Asia Pacific. The Europe/Middle East & Africa regions were formerly operated as one region.
Accor veteran Dominique Colliat is taking over responsibility for the Americas and will be based in New York effective Feb. 4. Colliat has had a very distinguished career in the Accor group where she began by managing a succession of hotels in the Caribbean, mainland France and the U.K. She most recently served as Sofitel’s senior vice president of operations for operations for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Emmanuel Caux is joining the company to head up Europe, effective immediately. Caux is a 20-year veteran of Le Mériden Hotels and Resorts, in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Indian Ocean and French West Indies. Since 2009, Caux has been managing director of the Hôtel Majestic in Cannes for the Lucien Barrière Group.
Sami Nasser is now charged with heading up Middle East and Africa region. Nasser has worked for Accor for two decades in many countries. Since April 2009, he served as vice president and general manager of operations for Sofitel Middle East, Egypt and Indian Ocean. As an expert on the Middle East, he will stress Sofitel’s ambitions for development in this important region.
