Join Mark on a day trip down 300 yards of cobblestone road. Old Pottery Road, as it is know, is a quick walk past more than one-hundred artisan sculpture and pottery shops. Artifacts of simple, utilitarian, beauty are displayed across the road from the ornate extravagance of gold leafed vases; a worldly heaven for ceramics lovers that can be walked end to end in only minutes.
Follow Mark from there to the nearby Zushih Temple. Taiwanese artist Li Meishu supervised the restoration of the temple. The intricate pillars and walls that are the fruits of his labors reflect passionate care and historical reverence, and make for a rewarding excursion.
