    TrustYou, the online reputation management (ORM) and travel technology company has announced a new app to travel agents. The TrustYou Sabre Red App, which will be available to travel agents through the Sabre Red App Centre, allows travel agents to see a hotel ranking through guest feedback across all major user-generated review sites in one score.   • How Low Can You Go?: Hotwire Launches Trip Watcher.com, Airfare Alert Site

    Hotwire.com has announced the launch of TripWatcher.com, its new real-time airfare price alert website. Hotwire says that the site will bring “previously unadvertised savings to trip planners” and expands on the existing Hotwire.com tool with customizable, storable data through a “My Trips Section” and the ability to notify subscribers of deals and price drops in real time via e mail, Facebook and Twitter.   • FCC Votes to Expand WiFi Inflight: Can Flying “Words With Friends” Be Far Behind?

    The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) said on May 9 that it is planning to take action to expand the availability of in-flight broadband connectivity to airline passengers. The Commission says it wants to establish an air-ground mobile broadband service, using a ground-based network to communicate with planes. The agency said that expanded availability of in-flight Wi-Fi will help meet demand from travelers to connect to a full range of communications services (like Facebook, gaming, etc.) while flying in the contiguous United States.   • Priceline Reports 1st Quarter Gross Travel Bookings of $9.2 billion

    Priceline.com Incorporated reported 1st quarter 2013 financial results for The Priceline Group on May 9. First quarter gross travel bookings for the Group, (which refers to the total dollar value, generally inclusive of all taxes and fees) of all travel services purchased by its customers, were $9.2 billion, an increase of 36.4% over a year ago (approximately 37% on a local currency basis). The Group's gross profit for the 1stquarter was $1.01 billion, a 35.8% increase from the prior year. International operations contributed gross profit in the 1stquarter of $894 million, a 45.1% increase versus a year ago (approximately 45% on a local currency basis). Read More

  • Travelport Announces First Quarter Revenue Increase of Net $23 Million

    Travelport Limited announced its financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013. The company reported on May 9 that the loss of their Master Services Agreement ("MSA") with United Airlines contributed approximately $25 million to the decline in net revenue and $19 million to the decline in each of operating income, EBITDA and Adjusted EBITDA for the first quarter of 2013 compared to 2012.   • Amadeus Announces New Agreement with American Airlines

    Amadeus has announced a new long-term global distribution agreement with American Airlines. Under the new agreement, an end-to-end XML connectivity will be developed between Amadeus technology and American’s interface. Once complete, Amadeus said this enhanced XML connectivity will facilitate expanded ancillary product distribution, real-time personalized offers, and improved merchandising, including the ability to book American’s Main Cabin Extra premium seating product.   • Amadeus Reports First Quarter Profit Reached €176.3 million

    Amadeus IT Holding, S.A. parent company of the Amadeus Group, reported on May 9 that their adjusted profit for the first quarter increased 5.0% to reach €176.3 million. This was backed by growth in revenue of 4.0% (4.7% adjusted for FX) to €795.0 million and a 5.3% (6.2% adjusted for FX) rise in EBITDA to €323.4 million. Read More
