TRX, Inc., the travel data and technology company, released a new API (application programming interface) for its expense management solution TRUEXPENSE. The new cloud-based, RESTful API makes it easy for customers, suppliers and other third parties to integrate their systems with TRUEXPENSE.

The API is beneficial for customers because it provides simple and direct communication channels between TRUEXPENSE and the business systems they already use, enables faster implementation and allows customization to meet nearly any business need. For customers already using the API, it enables the automated import of data from booking tools, corporate card feeds, HR information systems, and a number of other sources. Customers are also using the API to easily export data to back-end accounting and ERP systems as well as custom systems they have developed internally.

Suppliers and other third parties can provide additional value to mutual customers by passing expense-related data directly to TRUEXPENSE through the new API, further automating the expense process. "Companies often seek flexibility in the travel solutions they manage, especially for expense," said TRX President and CEO Shane Hammond. "Travelers encounter various points of purchase throughout their trips and receive billings from numerous vendors. When companies deal with multiple sources of information, it becomes challenging to tie all the pieces together.
