USVI’s Nicholson-Doty Named Chair of Caribbean Tourism Organization

Beverly Nicholson-Doty, commissioner of tourism for the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) was elected chair of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO)’s Council of Ministers and Commissioners of Tourism at the organization’s annual general meeting Oct. 10 in St. Kitts. Nicholson-Doty, who ran unopposed, replaces Ricky Skerritt, St. Kitts’ minister of tourism and international transport.
Nicholson-Doty in turn named Chantal Figueroa, the USVI Department of Tourism’s deputy commissioner, to head CTO’s board of directors. Five countries were also elected to provide representatives from the private sector to serve as vice chairs on the executive committee of CTO’s board of directors: St. Maarten, Martinique, St. Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago and Bermuda.
