Valerie Wilson Publishes Second Edition of Hotel & Resort Guide
Valerie Ann Wilson, chairman and CEO of New York-based Valerie Wilson Travel, has published the second edition of “Valerie Wilson’s World,” an illustrated and descriptive look at 400 of the world’s top hotels and resorts. The book, priced at $50 and published by Valerie Wilson Publications, offers a tribute to the finest hotels and resorts, as described and evaluated by Wilson herself. It reviews properties in Europe; Africa, India, Indian Ocean and the Middle East; Asia & Pacific; North, Central and South America; and the Bahamas, Bermuda and the Caribbean.
The publication of the book’s second edition comes as Valerie Wilson Travel celebrates its 30th year in business. At a reception at New York’s St. Regis Hotel, Wilson and her two daughters, Jennifer Wilson-Buttigieg, and Kimberly Wilson Wetty, co-presidents of the agency, celebrated the arrival of the second edition as well as their agency’s 30th anniversary. Valerie Wilson Travel opened on Sept. 8, 1981. Now part of the Virtuoso network, the agency is a multi-million-dollar shop catering to both corporate and leisure travelers. Wilson, who suffered a heart attack in 2001, also is donating $10 for every copy purchased to the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women,” a fund to help fight heart disease in women.
