January 02, 2012 10:13 PM

Washington School House, a National Historic Registry landmark built in 1889, has officially opened in Park City, Utah, as a luxury boutique hotel after undergoing an eight-month renovation. The Washington School House has 12 suites and rooms within the original structure. Sitting atop Park Avenue, just above Main Street, the school house has an original quarried limestone exterior, which has been protected with a new standing seam metal roof, restoring the building's authenticity. A new heated pool and spa have been terraced into the hillside. The living room has 16-foot ceilings, a fireplace and antiques and art including a massive antler chandelier. Rates start from $700 per night in the winter. For more information, call 800-824-1672.
