There's something to be said for seeing one, or more, of the 423 National Parks in the United States during the winter months.
Whether a National Park is in a warm-weather location or cold, winter can be a spectacular time to visit. It's less crowded, more pristine, and always beautiful.
You'll always have your temperature-challenged, frigid nature of Maine's Acadia National Park or Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park - the third most-visited National Park in the country.
But for those with wanderlust who live in the two-thirds of the U.S. that demand parkas in the winter, but who would like to throw on a pair of shorts and a T-shirt, there's always hidden gems like Haleakala National Park in Hawaii or Everglades National Park in Florida.
There are parks where you can snowshoe, and parks where you can hike trails. Every U.S. National Park has its own character and activities that attract a diverse group of tourists.
With that in mind, here are 10 National Parks to check out during January, February and March.
