America's One-of-a-Kind Fall Festivals

America's most unique fall festivals are events that you often can't experience anywhere else. Check out one, or all, of these one-of-a-kind festivals this fall, or start making plans for next year and you'll quickly see what all the fuss is about.

Seven of the world's best sand sculptors will descend on the beach at Key West's Casa Marina to showcase their talents during the International Sand Art Competiton November 21-25. Using 140 tons of sand, each artist will sculpt massive works of art, wowing hundreds of spectators in the process.

New York's Finger Lakes region will play host to a Wizarding Weekend October 26-28, a three-day event offering Harry Potter fans the opportunity to participate in Quidditch matches, Horcrux scavenger hunts, advanced potions cocktail classes for adults and character breakfasts.

Head to Lexington, Kentucky this Halloween (October 28) to participate in the annual Thriller and Halloween Parade, a reenactment of Michael Jackson's iconic music video that culminates with a flash-mob style performance. Now in its 17th year, the day-long event also features a marketplace and costume parade.

Elsewhere in the Horse Capital of the World, visitors can experience a southern tradition known as the Blessing of the Hounds, the first meet of the formal hunting season. Taking place at Shaker Village on November 24, the event allows attendees to watch hunters in action on their first run of the season before meeting the riders while enjoying a la carte grilled ham biscuits, Bloody Marys and Irish coffee by the fire pit.

Fort Worth's Coyote Drive-In Theater will host the Cowtown Geek Fair, a fall celebration of all things geek culture, including comics, anime, steampunk and cosplay. The family-friendly event will take place on November 3, is free to attend and will also feature food trucks and craft beer on-site.

The 10-day Kona Coffee Cultural Festival in Hawaii will run from November 9-18 and feature a handful of coffee-centric activities such as coffee picking and barista training as well as the Kona Coffee Latte Art Throwdown. Historic Easton, Pennsylvania will host PA Bacon Fest November 3-4. Attracting more than 80,000 attendees, this two-day festival is now in its seventh year, featuring more than 150 vendors and over a dozen different musical acts spread across multiple stages. In addition to mouthwatering food and live music, visitors can look forward to family-friendly activities, cooking demos and bacon treats they never could have imagined.

Manitou Springs will continue its one-of-a-kind coffin racing tradition October 27 with the 24th annual Emma Crawford Coffin Races and Festival, which features not only coffin races but a pre-race parade and a Festival de los Muertos to follow. The tradition stems from the tale of Emma Crawford, whose coffin came racing down the side of Red Mountain back in 1929.

The World's Largest Disco celebrates its 25th anniversary this fall. The massive party will take over the Buffalo Convention Center on November 24, featuring the largest dance floor in New York State with 500,000 watts of sound and lights. It's undoubtedly the greatest people watching event anywhere in the world.
