In 2017, James Lloyd was just trying to find a flight from Christchurch, New Zealand, to London, England, through Skyscanner when he came upon one flight option that included a 47-year layover in Bangkok. Five decades in Bangkok didn't seem ideal, so Lloyd reached out to Skyscanner on Facebook saying, "Just wondering what you'd recommend I do during the 47-year layover your website has suggested?"
Jen, a Skyscanner representative replied, "Unless you're a huge fan of The Terminal, I'd probably recommend spending those years outside of the airport, so here are a few suggestions: Missed Songkran but you've got another 46 years to enjoy it." She also suggested Lloyd "become a Tai Chi expert in Lumpini Park" and if he doesn't mind heights, "The Moon Bar is pretty good and it's open until 1am so you could spend a good chunk of time there."
