Midnight Sun got into the brewing game back in 1995 and haven't looked back since. They make dozens of types of beer and barleywine each year with one of the most popular mainstays being the Monk's Mistress Belgian-style Dark Ale. Ever since their founding, this St. Louis brewery has been putting out some of the best beer in the Midwest. Inspired by a beer-centric trip to Europe, the founders of Kane Brewing Company have come up with a line of brews that can compete with many on the Old Continent. Case in point is the Head High, which is their stellar interpretation of an American IPA. It has five different varieties of hops, all grown in the Pacific Northwest.

The one that started it all in Ohio, Great Lakes beer is nearly as entrenched in the culture of Cleveland as the Clevland Browns are. While the award-winning Edmund Fitzgerald Porter is full of flavor and the Dortmunder Gold is just as revered, people talk about their famous Christmas Ale all year long.

The accolades have been piling up for Prairie Artisan Ales and all it takes is one trip to their Tulsa brewpub or Oklahoma City taproom to find out why. Sorry chocaholics, Troegs is putting out the most delicious products in Hershey. Sip a Perpetual IPA to get a feel for their flavors while you wait for seasonal brews Nugget Nectar-Imperial Amber Ale with mango and pine-and Mad Elf-a sought-after Christmas beer-to make their appearances.

Even on a grey winter day, a sip of Grey Sail will take you back to the shore. Their signature beer called Flagship-a Golden Cream Ale inspired by crisp European lagers-has racked up a handful of awards but also check out their Mosaic-hopped Captain's Daughter Imperial IPA, which has quickly become a fan favorite.

Beer lovers from all over the country are making pilgrimages to Mount Pleasant to visit the Westbrook tasting room. You don't need to go any further than their refreshing-and-sour Gose to taste the brewing skill on display here, but if you do, the Southeast Asian-spiced White Thai is wonderful.

Hill Farmstead might just be the closest thing we've got to Westvleteren here in the USA. Yes, acquiring their beer is often talked about in hushed tones and you definitely have to go on a quest to acquire it, so why not head to Vermont in order to find out for yourself what all the fuss is about.

Hardywood has picked up an international reputation for their jolly Christmas beers, but while you're waiting for the festive season to swing around, there's still plenty of good stuff to be quaffed. Take for example the unpasteurized and unfiltered Hardywood Singel-a refreshing Belgian blonde-or the delicious barrel-aged Bourbon Barrel Cru.

Family owned since 2009, Fremont is passionate about beer. In fact, their mantra is "because beer matters!" and they show off just how much it matters to them in all their brews. Interurban India Pale Ale is a beautiful bitter-yet-balanced year-round brew, but sample the special releases and barrel-aged selections to see Fremont really fly.

Sure, they've only been in the game since 2014 and yes, there's some great beer coming out of West Virginia these days, but Big Timber is certainly running with the big boys. Their Porter is the one attracting the most accolades, as this brew tinged with coffee and chocolate is the epitome of perfectly balanced.

No, Leinie's isn't going to be confused with a craft brewery anytime soon, but you still have to admit that one sip of their Summer Shandy takes you back to summertime. That fact and this brewery's 150-year history is enough to keep it the signature brewery for the Badger State.

If the intro video on their website doesn't make you chuckle, then you're probably not cut out for the madness of Melvin. Yep, these guys love to have fun but there's no joking around when it comes to their beers. Their 2x4 Double IPA will hit you like "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, but trust us, you'll thank them for it afterward.
