Thanksgiving might very well be a distinctly American holiday, but the British want to give U.S. travelers a Black Friday deal.

British Airways, to be specific.

BA will be giving away 1,500 free hotel room nights in London to 1,000 passengers booking overnight flights from the U.S. departing on Jan. 10 or Jan. 14, 2017.

"There's never been a better time to visit the UK with your money going further than ever thanks to the strong dollar," Alex Cruz, British Airways' Chairman and Chief Executive, said in a statement. "January is a fantastic time for savvy travelers to visit London and grab a bargain in the seasonal sales. We want to make it even more attractive with this fantastic offer of free hotel rooms."

The free hotel room offer goes live on ba.com from starting at 10 a.m. EST on Black Friday, Nov. 25. Customers can select the offer as a vacation package or select one of the airline's low-priced flights to London. Once in their online shopping basket, they can choose from a selection of available free hotels. The free accommodation will be for three nights based on two people travelling together and sharing a hotel room.

The hotels have been specially selected by staffers at BA Holidays, the airline's vacation package arm. Every hotel has at least a 4-star rating, including The Rembrandt, Doubletree by Hilton London Westminster and Amba Hotel Marble Arch.

In addition, the 1,000 passengers will each receive free Visitor Oyster cards with a £15 credit, which allows visitors to get all around London on the Tube/bus networks and discount booklets which can be used for shops and restaurants.

It's all part of a bigger picture encouraging U.S. travelers to England, where airfares and hotel rates have fallen slightly after Great Britain's 'Brexit' decision to leave the European Union and return to autonomy.

"We look forward to welcoming even more US travelers on board and to our home in the UK," Cruz added. "And with the strength of the dollar over the pound there really is no better time to visit."
