MSC Cruises' highly-anticipated new MSC Seaside is nearing its Miami homeport arrival, and Thursday officially marked the start of the 50-day countdown to her Floridian introduction.
On December 21, 2017, the dramatic "beach condo" designed cruise ship will be christened by legendary actress and MSC favorite godmother, Sophia Loren. The traditional naming ceremony is also set to be attended by football star and Miami Dolphins alumnus, Dan Marino.
TravelPulse will be there to cover all the festivities as well as the completed ship itself.
In fact, we already had the privilege of seeing the ship when it was being initially built for a behind-the-scenes preview that can still be explored here.
The Seaside is currently under final construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. It will be the first MSC ship to leave the yard immediately for the United States. She will depart Trieste, Italy on December 1 to commence her transatlantic crossing and, after a special launch event, the ship will begin its regular Caribbean cruises on December 23, 2017, in time to celebrate Christmas.

In preparation, MSC is getting future guests excited on social media with a video introduction to the Seaside and its unique onboard features.
Along for the ride will be the likes of the Asian Market Kitchen by Roy Yamaguchi specialty restaurant, the fleet's biggest gym and spa with snow room, and interactive aqua park with video game water slide boarding.
Most notable will be the ship's signature connection to the sea, however, with not only expansive ocean-level promenade decks but also al fresco restaurants and bars, outdoor fitness facilities, luxury spa cabanas and open-air terraced verandas.
The MSC Seaside will embark on 7-night eastern and western Caribbean itineraries year-round from Miami, Florida.
