Royal Caribbean International's newest ship, Anthem of the Seas, will arrive at its new homeport of Cape Liberty Cruise Port in New Jersey this fall with a handful of unexpected guests.
The Miami-based cruise line announced Tuesday that Anthem of the Seas is expanding its entertainment offerings with the addition of a cast of DreamWorks Animation characters, including beloved personalities like Shrek and the Penguins from "Madagascar."
The DreamWorks influence will extend well beyond a cast of movie characters, though.
Anthem of the Seas guests of all ages will have access to special events and activities, including a character breakfast, several meet and greet events and onboard photo ops.
DreamWorks' renowned animation will also be incorporated into the cruise line's Adventure Ocean youth program. The presentation of DreamWorks Animation films at the ship's movie theater as well as on a dedicated DreamWorks TV channel in guests' staterooms will be the icing on the cake.
"Anthem of the Seas already offers an unprecedented line-up of entertainment activities on board for our guests," Mark Tamis, Royal Caribbean's senior vice president of hotel operations said in a statement. "With the addition of the DreamWorks Experience guests of all ages will be even more wowed with everything Anthem has to offer."
The 4,905-passenger Anthem of the Seas set sail on its maiden voyage this past April - spending the summer in Europe - and will replace Quantum of the Seas when it arrives in New York Harbor early November.
Deemed the world's most revolutionary ship by Royal Caribbean, Anthem of the Seas features a plethora of unique offerings, including a skydiving simulator, bumper cars and a circus school.
