It is just about the start of the 2016 cruising season and, this July, Regent Seven Seas Cruises will unveil the new Explorer that will travel to the Mediterranean, Caribbean and the Transatlantic.

The Explorer is touting itself as the most luxurious ship ever. And, to keep its 750 passengers entertained, four Broadway-style shows have now been unveiled that will be led by Julliard-trained musical director Jeremy Fenn.

The musical 'Burn the Floor' brings the audience back to February 9, 1964 when Beatlemania and the British Invasion hit North America during the Sunday night Ed Sullivan Show. The cast dances and sings through the musical era with such dances as the Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Paso Doble and Cha Cha.

Another show that pushes the burlesque boundaries is 'Paradis', a salute to the Parisian cabaret that includes 300 costumes, as well as dance and steamy songs. It is created and directed by veteran Broadway and Off-Broadway choreographer Patricia Wilcox, who also choreographed 'Motown the Musical' and 'A Night With Janis Joplin.'

Cruises bring quality shows to its passengers, and 'A Day in Hollywood' is a Tony Award-winning show that was originally on Broadway in 1980 with choreography by Tommy Tune. The show was originally called 'A Day in Hollywood/A Night at the Ukraine', but this show will only focus on the first act. Guests will feel like they are in the Grauman's Chinese Theatre around 1935 and six characters will lead the audience through the Hollywood movies, including such famed songs as "Over the Rainbow," "Thanks for the Memory" and "Hooray for Hollywood."

The last show is 'Peggy Lee', directed by William Whitener, who has performed, choreographed and directed for stages worldwide, including Broadway. Peggy Lee was a famous American jazz and popular music crooner and this production is a contemporary exploration of her career that includes a compilation of her songs such as "Fever," "The Freedom Train" and "You Gotta Have Heart." Guests will be taken back to the 1950s and then taken through Lee's career.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises Explorer is the first of the ships in this company to carry these four performances, but the parent company, Norwegian Cruise Lines, is also considering upgrading the entertainment options across their entire fleet.

"We think it's a catalog that is going to appeal to the guests, and it's going to take Regent to the next level," Richard Ambrose, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings' vice president of entertainment, said in a statement.
