Hurtigruten Expeditions will be removing its pre-departure testing requirements except for its Antarctica expeditions beginning October 1.
Masks are also no longer mandatory onboard, though they are still recommended while in public areas.
The expedition cruise line currently requires all travelers to be fully vaccinated with a WHO-approved vaccine, including children twelve years old and up. A booster dose is recommended but no longer required.
For Antarctica expeditions, travelers are required to test prior to embarkation. Travelers who transfer from Santiago or Buenos Aires to either of the line's ports in Ushuaia or Punta Arenas will have their tests arranged by the line, whereas travelers to arrange their own cruise-only travel to these two ports must arrange their own pre-embarkation tests, taken within 72 hours prior to boarding.
"Our updated protocols will more closely align with land-based travel options and the current environment across our destinations. We will offer our guests the best possible experience, with the peace of mind of exploring with us on board a fully vaccinated ship," said Iain McNeill, SVP Operations in Hurtigruten Expeditions.
