Star Clippers plans to step up its sales and marketing efforts in the U.S. The tall-ship specialist has appointed Mirell Reyes as president of sales and marketing for North America, South America and Canada.
In this new Miami-based position, Reyes will head all sales and marketing initiatives in the Americas and report directly to Mikael Krafft, owner and president of Star Clippers.
Reyes will keep her current title as director of sales for Star Clippers Monaco, a position she's held since August 2008, so she'll continue to manage the sales and marketing efforts for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and part of Asia.
Reyes will work closely with the head office in Monaco and the directors to create worldwide branding.
Reyes has over 14 years of experience in the cruise business. Prior to joining Star Clippers, Reyes was the sales and marketing director for the German company TUI Leisure Travel. She is fluent in English, French and German.
Star Clippers operates three of the world's largest and tallest sailing vessels. The Star Flyer and Star Clipper accommodate up to 170 passengers with a crew of 74, while Royal Clipper carries 227 with a crew of 106. All three ships have teak decks, swimming pools, informal dining, a convivial Tropical Bar on deck, and a piano bar.
