Arizona may be home to the hottest attraction in the U.S. this holiday season but Nashville, Tennessee is overflowing with trendy points of interest.
According to TripAdvisor's latest Seasonal Attractions Trend Index, the beloved Grand Canyon South Rim is once again the top trending U.S. attraction, boasting a 45 percent year-over-year increase in traffic based on TripAdvisor search sessions between 2016 and 2017 for the period of September 1 to October 7.
Nashville's Ryman Auditorium saw a 25 percent jump while the Chapel of the Holy Cross in Sedona, Arizona and San Francisco's Coit Tower each experienced a 21 percent rise in searches over last year.
Elsewhere in the Music City, travelers are showing increased interest in The Johnny Cash Museum and The Grand Ole Opry.
America's largest home, the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina is the fifth-hottest fall attraction, edging out Washington, D.C.'s Newseum, the Gateway Arch in St. Louis and Colorado Springs' Garden of the Gods. Travelers can tour the latter via Jeep for as little as $88 on TripAdvisor.
The Heard Museum in Phoenix, which highlights an array of Native American art and culture, rounds out the top 10 with a year-over-year traffic increase of 16 percent. The museum offers free guided tours and a dozen different exhibition galleries.
New Orleans' Jackson Square and National WWII Museum crack the top 25 for fall 2017, as do Las Vegas' High Roller and Stratosphere Tower. Both Vegas hotspots offer some of the best views in America.
Seattle also made the list twice thanks to the popularity of the famed Pike Place Market and iconic Space Needle.
Theme parks currently trending include Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri and Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The former has seen traffic rise by 14 percent compared to 2016 while interest in the latter is up 8 percent in 2017.
Virginia's 800-acre Great Falls Park and the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta have also been searched 8 percent more often than last year.
The Dallas Arboretum and Botanicals Gardens were the lone Texas attraction to see a notable jump in interest. The 66-acre display is especially appealing around the holidays when the decorations go up.
"TripAdvisor Attractions data shows that travelers have a strong interest in historic attractions this season, as well as continued interest in Southern nature and structures," said the company's senior director of communications, Brooke Ferencsik in a statement.
Virginia's Luray Caverns and Munising, Michigan's eye-pleasing Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore are other examples of coveted attractions this fall, especially among nature lovers.
