Theme park fans are already excited to have Toy Story Land debut at Disney's Hollywood Studios June 30, but new details of the area were revealed Wednesday during Good Morning America.
The segment showcased many of the elements of the themed land that have guests who love the Disney-Pixar films ready to visit when it opens. The Hollywood Studios area will allow families to interact with Woody, Buzz, Jessie and all their pals in familiar settings.
One of the most exciting attractions is the Alien Swirling Saucers, which was designed to resemble the playset Andy won at the Pizza Planet restaurant. Guests will board rocket ship toys with green aliens and spin around planets and space stations as The Claw hangs overhead.
Another event coming to Toy Story Land will be the parade of Sarge and the Green Army Man Drum Corps several times a day. Guests are encouraged to follow the toy soldiers to their boot camp, where they'll be able to play with oversized crayons and other giant objects.
For visitors ready to ride the family-style roller coaster, Slinky Dog Dash, there will be a special animatronics figure singing to them as the ride ends. The squeaky toy penguin Wheezy will belt out "You've Got a Friend in Me" as he relaxes with Mike the tape recorder and Mr. Spell.
After a wild day at Toy Story Land, retail stores in the area will feature themed merchandise created especially for the Orlando theme park, including custom headbands, Slinky Dog light-up rings, t-shirts and more.
In addition, a restaurant dubbed Woody's Lunch Box will serve up classic on-the-go menu items with a creative twist.
