In the Netherlands, the EYE is now watching you.

Visual News' Paul Caridad reports a Dutch art installation around the city of 's-Hertogenbosch allows visitors to take a gander through a very large eye.

Tourists can pay a fee to sit in a giant eyeball and watch the city below, which apparently has a benefit beyond ostentatious people watching.

Here's a video that should give you an idea of what we are talking about here. When the world is going big with its observation decks, this might be the way to go small:

New Heroes has more on EYE, a project directed by Lucas De Man and designed by Pascal Leboucq.

"EYE was designed as a reaction to the crumbling social cohesion that challenges cities today. This undoing of the social glue causes anonymity in public space, which affects the character of our shared habitat, the City. A city without people engaging, connecting and sharing is a city without a soul."

We just want to know if we can fit in the thing.

Caridad helps us out with the specifics, stating the installations will be around until early November, welcoming tourists who are over 16 but not over 265 lbs, which shoul d take most of us Americans out of the running.

According to the report, a ticket into EYE will run you $14.50. Now if you will be in the area and want to take a look at the city in a peculiar way, visit Oogdenbosch.nl for more information. It seems from the ticket page that a purchase mandates picking a time and specific location for your EYE gazing.

Now get on out there and use your eye to stare out of a giant EYE and try not to smile.
