Now we know you're an expert on traipsing around the world, but sometimes it helps to take a refresher course on just where some of these countries reside. In steps "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver," which doesn't so much hold class as much as it proves we all need a tutor in country borders.
Oliver's HBO show is arguably one of the best on television at the moment. Actually, you probably can't argue against it, because it's darn near fact. Posted over to Reddit is this video, which compiles all the times Oliver proved his studio audience had a tenuous grasp of geography:
This is an ongoing trope in a show that is as nuanced as it is silly. And we have to agree with Oliver who proclaims, "This game is never not going to be fun."
Each week, Oliver takes a specific subject and delves deep into its core, dissecting and discussing with hilarious comedy. Along the way, he has not so subtly proved that we all need to concentrate a bit better on geography.
Even we travelers who continue to pepper the globe would do well to make certain we actually know where we are whenever we land in a foreign country.
