Anyone with a spare couch in Amiens, France, might want to help out the Royal Family at the moment, because they were just turned away by a hotel.

This makes that time the restaurant lost your reservation all the more palatable.

Express.co.uk reports some news that you don't hear every day. According to Selina Sykes, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with Prince Harry, were preparing for this summer's trip to France for what is to be the centennial of the Battle of Somme.

The trip mandates a stop over in Amiens, which meant looking for accommodations befitting the royal contingent.

Alas, the Hôtel Marotte, one of the most luxurious in the region, was booked. Yep. There was no room at this particular inn.

A quick look at the hotel's website provides wonderful images of a hotel that would certainly be a dream stay for a pauper or a prince. However, there are just 12 rooms as described on the website.

And that is where things have gone a bit awry.

A spokesperson offered an explanation to Express.co.uk: "We were asked to accommodate the royal family but we had to tell them we were already fully booked."

The spokesperson continued, seemingly giving a global explanation for something you wouldn't think possible: "We are only a small hotel with 12 rooms and we've been booked up for a year now. The 100th anniversary of the Battle of Somme is a massive event for the area. We are expecting between 25,000 and 30,000 people for the event."

A similar situation you find yourself when you head to Coachella or other events just hit the royal family: A well-attended celebration gobbled up the rooms.

And good on the hotel for simply stating that it couldn't accommodate the party rather than move other less royal families from the building.

The report offers solutions you all may be well acquainted with, such as looking at other towns or scouring Airbnb for a house in which to stay.

So again, we have to plea with you in the area. If you have a spare bed or a guesthouse, there are some famous royals in need of somewhere to crash for a couple nights in June.
