Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts will get a $200 million redesign, InterContinental Hotels Group told USA Today.
Guest rooms and public meeting areas will be included in the three-year "Crowne Plaza Accelerate" redesign, USA Today said.

The goal is to make hotels in the Americas more suitable for business travelers who want to work and have some fun during their stays at Crowne Plaza, according to the newspaper.
Crowne Plaza has 171 hotels in the Americas, with another 13 hotels planned, USA Today said. It has already introduced a faster Wi-Fi called IHG Connect.

The company will improve its mattresses, housekeeping procedures, noise management and scents in its rooms, the newspaper reported.
"It's really all about making business travel work," Eric Lent, vice president of Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza in the Americas for IHG, told USA Today. "This modern business traveler, what they're really looking for is for a hotel to address a currently under-met need, which is a hotel experience to let them blend work and rest while boosting performance."
