In a move that makes perfect sense given the city's musical roots, Hard Rock International has announced that its first hotel in Ireland is to be located in Dublin.
The new property is slated to open in 2020 and will be designed to shine a light the past and present musical vibrancy of its host city.
Hard Rock Hotel Dublin will be located in the iconic city's center on Lord Edward Street and will encompass two structures - an existing property that was built at the turn of the 20th century (currently the site of the Parliament Hotel) and an adjacent Fashion House Building.
The Fashion House portion of the property is to be entirely rebuilt and transformed into the hotel's entrance and reception. To add a contemporary feel, a new glass link bridge will connect the two buildings.
The Parliament building's original red brick facade, dating back to 1912, will be retained and refurbished. Interiors however, will be completely reimagined, creating a unique music-inspired city escape including priceless memorabilia.
Additional features of the upcoming property include 120 guest rooms and suites; an all-day dining restaurant focused on fresh Irish ingredients; a full-service wellness center and workout facility and a Rock Spa with five treatment rooms and yoga studio.
There will also be a casual bar serving food accompanied by well-crafted cocktails and 24-hour in-room dining.
Communal areas in the Dublin hotel will feature intimate booth seating and eclectic fittings and furnishings, while bedrooms will be furnished in visually appealing jewel tones and lush textures.
And in classic Hard Rock Hotel style, the property will also offer complimentary vinyl players and a records checkout program as well as a Fender guitar checkout through The Sound of Your Stay in-room music amenity program.
"Ireland has always been a place close to our hearts, and it only seems right to open a Hard Rock Hotel in Dublin, given the city's musical roots," Todd Hricko, SVP & Head of Global Hotel Development for Hard Rock International, said in a statement. "This is an exciting opportunity to extend our presence in Europe and elevate the one-of-a-kind offering at Hard Rock Hotels to the next level."
Hard Rock International now has a presence in more than 70 countries around the globe.
The Dublin property will be created in collaboration with Tifco Limited, one of Ireland's largest hotel companies.
One more noteworthy detail, Hard Rock Hotel Dublin will be positioned within the commercial center of Dublin, close to Temple Bar.
Recognized as a cultural hot spot, Temple Bar is a stone's throw away from the city's most visited landmarks and attractions such as Trinity College, Grafton Street, St. Stephen's Green and the world-famous Guinness Storehouse.
