Awards are not only fun, but extremely helpful for travelers searching for the perfect hotel for their next trip.
Just in time for the 2015 holiday season, Orbitz Worldwide has revealed the winners of its annual Best in Stay Awards, recognizing hotels around the world that consistently wow not only guests, but experts as well.
Hotels were rated on a scale of one to five in a variety of categories, including amenities, comfort, location and value. A handful of properties were also singled out for their excellence in a half of a dozen different key categories, including all-inclusive and LGBT.
As part of the 2015 Best in Stay Awards announcement, Orbitz is offering travelers $50 off of qualifying three-night flight and hotel vacation packages at winning hotels. Travelers must book by Nov. 13 using promo code BESTINSTAY50. The offer is good for travel through March 31, 2016.
That said, here's a look at the properties that were recognized for their sustained brilliance in a particular category:
2015 All-Inclusive Winners
Grand Velas Riviera Maya (Playa del Carmen, Mexico)
Excellence Playa Mujeres Cancun (Cancun, Mexico)
Iberostar Grand Bavaro (Punta Cana, Dominican Republic)
Playa del Carmen, Mexico's Grand Velas Riviera Maya is the epitome of all-inclusive, receiving a 4.8 out of five star rating from Orbitz users as a result. The hotel boasts three different pools and eight different restaurants to choose from, a teens club in the jungle, a full-service spa and 24-hour room service.
2015 Best Value Winners
Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino (Las Vegas)
Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort and Spa (Waikoloa, Hawaii)
Omni Cancun Hotel and Villas (Cancun, Mexico)
If it's value you're after, the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Downtown Las Vegas offers tremendous bang for your buck in one of the world's most coveted destinations. The hotel has been open since the 1940s and today offers tower rooms, spa rooms and luxury suites at an affordable rate.

The Pacific Terrace Hotel in San Diego is awfully tough to beat when it comes to planning a family vacation considering children aged 12 and under stay for free. And for the adults the hotel offers massages in-room or poolside.

La Concha Renaissance Resort (San Juan, Puerto Rico)
Boasting even more history than Vegas' Golden Nugget, the Talbott Hotel in Chicago dates back to 1927. In addition to offering the free Wi-Fi, fitness center and event space hotel guests have come to expect, the pet-friendly Talbott also features laundry service as well as a resturant and bar on site.

The Peninsula Tokyo (Tokyo)
Park Hyatt Melbourne (Melbourne, Australia)
Las Ventanas al Paraiso (San Jose del Cabo, Mexico)
The Peninsula Tokyo is one of only two hotels across the six categories to boast a perfect five-star rating from Orbitz users' guest reviews. The hotel's luxury amenities include complimentary shoe shine service, in-room espresso machines and a personal trainer upon request.
