What's better than free Wi-Fi? How about the world's fastest free Wi-Fi.
A new hotel in Abu Dhabi claims its Internet speed is the fastest of any hotel on the planet.
According to managers of the Jannah Burj Al Sarab hotel in the United Arab Emirates capital, the hotel's Wi-Fi - which was recently upgraded to 1.2 Gigabytes per second - has been crowned the best around by Hotelwifitest.com.
Based on the website's data, the Jannah Burj Al Sarab is in a league of its own.
Even before its latest upgrade, the hotel's 270 Megabytes per second (Mbps) speed was well ahead of the world's average hotel Internet speed of between 100 and 250 Mbps.
For those eager to surf the web at lightning-quick speeds, the 318-room five-star hotel officially opens this month. And guests checking in for the first time will have free access to the world-class Wi-Fi.
"In our technology-driven world, having Internet connection is no longer sufficient. Most people own more than one device now - so more data will also be consumed," Jannah Hotels and Resorts' chief information officer Adonis Darwiche said in a statement. "We cater to successful and ambitious travelers who seek a balance between work and play."
"Jannah Burj Al Sarab's fastest hotel Internet speed will help our guests in achieving that balance so they can complete their tasks in a shorter period of time."
In addition to blazing-fast Internet, guests staying at the new hotel can look forward to other amenities including a restaurant, spa and rooftop fitness facilities.
