A Delta Air Lines flight traveling from New York to Tennessee was forced to make an emergency landing in West Virginia Thursday after a bird strike resulted in a cracked windshield.
Citing other news outlets, ABC News reported the flight was carrying 57 passengers when it made an unexpected stop at Yeager Airport in Charleston, West Virginia.
The plane was bound for Nashville after taking off from New York's LaGuardia Airport.
Following the collision, airport spokesman Mike Plante said the flight's pilot informed air traffic controllers of the emergency landing shortly before 5 p.m. ET Thursday.
The plane landed without issue and no injuries were reported.
Plante confirmed that Delta was scheduling delivery of a new plane to transport passengers to their final destination.
Spencer Adkins of WOWK 13 News in Charleston shared an image of the damage via Twitter Thursday evening.
