With the 2018 U.S. midterm elections less than two weeks away, one travel company has come up with a creative way to inspire young Americans to vote.
Tour company Contiki launched a #VoteWithNoRegrets campaign to give one voter a chance to win a free trip on any of Contiki's world tours.
Millennials and Gen Z Americans, or those who are 18-35 years old, are eligible if they vote in the midterm elections.
First, contestants must follow Contiki on Instagram, and then after voting, post a photo of their "I Voted" sticker or mail-in ballot on Instagram on November 6th. They must also tag Contiki and use the hashtag #VoteWithNoRegrets.
Contiki will announce one winner on November 7th.
In addition to a $1,000 airline credit, the winner will be able to choose from one of Contiki's trips like a nine-day exploration of Laos and Cambodia, nine days in New Zealand, or eight days in the Peruvian highlands.
Contiki president Adam Cooper said, "We believe that travel has the capacity to bring us all a little closer within the global community. But in order to truly be considered a global citizen, young people must be active participants, not merely spectators on the sidelines."
"Whether red or blue, Democrat, Republican or Independent, voting, like travel, can be powerful and life-changing and should never be dismissed. This year, we're joining the national movement urging voters to head to the polls."
Where sayings like, "It's your patriotic duty," may not encourage young Americans to vote in this midterm election, perhaps a free trip with Contiki will.
