Revving Up Your Auto Europe Business
A company promotion provides your client with a free GPS and lobster or salmon for you.

Auto Europe is finding success with programs that keep both clients and agents happy, the most popular of which provides the former with a free GPS and the latter with complimentary lobster or salmon.
Looking Ahead
“The GPS promotion actually started as a free cell phone promotion 15 years ago,” said Nanci Sullivan, vice president of sales and marketing. “The next promotion may be free MiFi hot spot cards.” MiFi is a wireless router used as a mobile WiFi hot spot.
Promotions are reviewed at the end of each year, and Sullivan said she expects the GPS deal to be extended at least through 2019.
GPS Accoutrements
The GPS units, along with a universal car charger, carrying case and dash mount, are shipped out to agents or clients prior to departure, with the $40 delivery fee paid by the client.
As for the agent seafood promotion, which began more than 20 years ago, Sullivan said that agents “love it.” can earn six Maine lobsters or three pounds of salmon by selling a business-class airfare package, prestige or sports car rental, or six client rentals.
A Live Surprise!
Kari Burton of North Travel in Seattle has taken advantage of the promotion for a decade. “One time I ordered the salmon as usual, but somehow a mistake was made and they shipped the lobsters,” she said. “I opened the box, removed the ice and packaging, and to my surprise, six huge lobsters were jumping out toward me. I screamed and stood on a chair until my husband could come to subdue them and cook them for his dinner.”
