La Colección’s Immersive Urban Resorts
The company's urban properties enable guests to experience some of Mexico's most dynamic cities in style

Typically, when luxury resorts come to mind so too do images of sun and sand, sparkling pools and a generous number of food and beverage options in traditional vacation destinations.
For its part, La Colección by Fiesta Americana has raised the bar substantially on resort stays in urban locations, enabling travelers to immerse themselves in a range of fascinating destinations in properties that reflect the cities themselves.
“We have a roster of 17 urban properties for guests seeking a city destination experience or a business-friendly hotel,” said Mauricio Aceves, vice president of business development for Posadas, La Colección’s parent company. “Three of our brands are represented within this selection, including Live Aqua, Grand Fiesta Americana, Curamoria Collection and Fiesta Americana.”
He added, “We find that our city hotels and resorts offer a smooth and luxurious avenue to experience Mexico’s most dynamic destinations, such as Oaxaca, Mexico City, Mérida, San Miguel de Allende and Puebla, just to name a few.”
Broad Appeal
The urban resorts are well-suited to a range of clients, and “perfect for groups, multigenerational families, food lovers, romance travelers and newlyweds, adventure seekers and cultural travelers,” Aceves said. “Anyone who wants a well-rounded exceptional resort paired with the benefit of exploring the culture and attractions of the destination will find our portfolio to be specifically positioned to provide a truly grand experience.”
Qualifying Clients
When discussing possible destinations with your clients, Aceves noted that it’s “important to ensure the destination overlaps with the traveler’s desires, including such offerings as gastronomy, culture, art, folklore, nature, crafts, adventure and romance.”
“Depending on the client’s preferences, our urban resorts will offer luxury, excellent service and world-class amenities in the best destinations in Mexico. This facilitates a seamless experience for guests who look to explore a city like Oaxaca, Mérida, Guadalajara or San Miguel de Allende, among others.”
Expansion Plans
In all, La Colección comprises 32 resorts, and those numbers are expanding. “Recently we announced plans to introduce two new Live Aqua properties in the Mexican destinations of Playa Mujeres and the majestic Mexican wine country of Valle de Guadalupe,” Aceves said.
“We have also added a new boutique concept, Náay Tulum from the Curamoria, Collection, which introduces a completely new experience for guests while continuing to serve a wide variety of experiences geared for all preferences.
“The Curamoria Collection goes beyond its amazing spaces and transcends into the culture and ambiance of its surrounding.
“Finally, we have also announced two new developments in the Riviera Cancun, a Live Aqua and a Grand Fiesta Americana, joining the nine properties in our portfolio in that region.”
La Colección Rewards
La Colección Rewards enhanced its travel advisor program with more benefits, incentives, and rewards. “The rewards program is diligently designed for modern-day travel professionals who seek to stay on top of the latest travel trends and provide their clients with the best vacation experience,” said Mauricio Aceves, vice president of business development for parent company Posadas, adding that the program’s updates include a Free Nights Benefit.
“In addition to the cash incentive, registered agents will receive one free night per booking until Dec. 31, 2022, in resorts throughout the La Colección Resort by Fiesta Americana brands,” he said.
“Free nights redemption is valid toward one room in single or double occupancy in a standard or basic room category at the selected resort or in resorts from the same brands.”
For member advisors booking participating Live Aqua, Grand Fiesta Americana, Curamoria Collection, Fiesta Americana or Explorean brand resorts, one night booked will earn one free night at the participating resorts of the same brand.
