Instagram—Educating Through Photos
The social media platform is a great way to educate your audience and turn prospects into clients.

One of the golden rules of social media marketing is to educate. On such social media sites as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google + and Google My Business, it’s pretty easy to do just that by what you write in your posts because these platforms are driven by words, with pictures serving as enhancements. Instagram, on the other hand, is driven by images and enhanced by descriptions.
So how do you educate your social media audience on Instagram without posting huge descriptions of images? It’s easier than you think.
For starters, choose your images wisely and let them tell the narrative. Give context where you need to, but keep it brief. People scroll briskly through their Instagram feeds and they have neither the time nor the inclination to read through long narratives.
Be sure to also choose your #hashtags wisely. They serve two purposes. One, they play a huge role in how web surfers are able to find your account and posts. Two, with these types of posts, you will be able to educate a generous number of prospects through the hashtags alone.
For instance, if your post/ image is about a destination—we’ll use Mexico’s Holbox Island as an example—it could read:
#holboxisland—A Little Island with a BIG personality!!! Tag someone you would love to visit here with!!!” Then add such #hashtags as #HolboxIsland #Mexico #NoCars #SereneGetaway #WellnessTravel #LoveMexico #GetHereByFerry.
All things considered, Instagram is by far my favorite social media platform, because I love photos and I also love not having to write a lot in my posts.
Your Instagram photos will enable your audience to visualize new experiences, leading them to you for more information. Such inquiries provide you with new contacts to add to your database, which could lead to future bookings.
Instagram is one of the best ways to sell travel, engage your audience and show your expertise in the travel industry.
