Keep the Vacation Vibe Alive
Don’t let your post-trip enthusiasm wane. That positive energy is a key client influencer.

When we return home from vacations and fam trips, we transition back from play to work. The sun and the surf fade from our minds. The sights and the sounds lose their color. We lose the bounce in our step and the fun in our voice.
Our ability to influence others fades with each day. Our highest level of influence peaks upon our return. Over time our enthusiasm waness—as do our sales successes.
Clients can hear the difference! They are not as eager to buy from someone who is not as eager to influence them.
What would happen if we were able to stay in play mode?
Our positive energy would be shared with friends, family and even clients—and our ability to influence others would increase exponentially. Never underestimate your influential powers. Remember these three truths and up your game. I challenge all travel agents to be mindful and stay in the fun zone!
Your Role is to Influence
Suppliers train you and pay you to influence consumers. They often enable you to experience their brand firsthand, which can serve as a powerful influencer.
In turn, consumers desire your influence. They rely on your experience, guidance and confidence. Consumers rely on you to cut risk and stress. They expect you to add value and convenience.
If you are low energy, unconvincing and inconclusive, your power to influence is diminished. The client will book elsewhere.
Qualifying clients with confidence is a key to being influential. Don’t hold back! This is why your customers call you in the first place, or they would have already booked online.

You Cannot Influence if You Are Boring
It takes great energy to be passion-filled every time we speak to clients. Regardless of what type of vacation experience they are seeking, showing your enthusiasm and excitement is vital. Too often we forget the sizzle.
We come off as corporate and dull.
Imagine making sales calls from the pool deck of a cruise ship or martini lounge at a resort. I bet your energy level would be supercharged, and your clients would feel that vibe. Be fun on the phone and your influence will surge.
Nouns Have No Influence Without Adjectives and Verbs
Focusing on features and not benefits is a terrible trap. A room is a room, a beach is a beach and a meal is a meal.
Describe to clients what type of music they will hear by the pool. Make the spices and scents of a restaurant come to life. Paint a picture of a sunset catamaran cruise as if you were there together in the moment.
Never leave a noun naked!
Create desire through abundant descriptions. Bring things to life and your influence grows.
Why transition from play to work? Make every day a play-day, and your clients will feel the vibe. They will love your passion. Your influence factor will flourish!
