About

The smallest and most tranquil of the three Cayman Islands, Little Cayman is a sure bet for travelers seeking maximum relaxation. With a geography that stretches just ten miles long and one mile wide, and home to less than 170 people, Little Cayman is ideal for vacationers seeking unspoiled landscapes and charming solitude. The island’s iconic landscapes and picture-perfect ocean vistas make it a particular favorite with honeymooners and other couples.

While the population might be small, the locals surely know how to stage a party. Be sure to visit during Mardi Gras, Little Cayman Pirates Week or the Little Cayman Cook and watch as the island comes to life, punctuated by a lively soundtrack of local music, including soca, reggae and steel drums.

Visitors will also want to take advantage of the sea’s bounty, which serves up equal part adventuresome activities and freshly caught culinary offerings. Diving is plentiful, with more than 50 sites calling to visitors. A popular spot is Bloody Bay Wall Marine Park, which is famous for its swim through chutes, dramatic drop offs, caves and mini-walls. Or, come face-to-face with feisty bonefish, groupers and turtles at Cumber’s Cave, a shallow 20-foot dive that is perfect for beginners.

Looking to fill your Instagram feed? Little Cayman is also home to the largest colony of the Red-Footed Boobies in the western hemisphere, so be sure to visit the Booby Pond Nature Reserve, where you can photograph the birds in action. For a languid day excursion, row over to the uninhabited Owen Island, a small islet just off the southwestern coast of Little Cayman that is accessible only by sailboat or kayak, to enjoy a romantic picnic for two.

If your ideal Caribbean getaway consists of minimum crowds and maximum hospitality, Little Cayman is the right choice for you.
