Caspian Café serves up outstanding Mediterranean fare, while Bird Dog Barbecue has arguably the best brisket and pulled pork in the state.
Located just 11 miles east of downtown, Colorado Springs Municipal Airport (COS) is the region’s largest full-service airport. Pueblo Memorial Airport (PUB) is a smaller option located 40 miles south of downtown Colorado Springs, and offers regional commercial air service. For getting around the city, renting a car is a good option, as it’s a sprawling city and there are several highways. Taxi service is available, as well as the Colorado Springs Transit.
Colorado Springs has a semi-arid climate with all four seasons prevalent. The average high temperature in the hottest month of July is 84.4° F (29.11° C), while the average low in January remains in the mid-teens. March is known to have the most snowfall during the year, with an average of 9.5 inches in the month. Weather-wise, the best time to visit is during the spring and early autumn months.
