Destination & Tourism Patrick Clarke July 06, 2022
The Dominican Republic Is as Hot as Ever
The Dominican Republic was among the first destinations to reopen to international travelers following the onset of the pandemic in 2020 and has made a full recovery in the months since. After reporting a record 626,010 tourist arrivals in April, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) recognized the Dominican Republic as the world's leading country in the recovery of tourism. The country expects to host as many as 7 million land-based and cruise ship visitors in 2022.
