New Zealand: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Perhaps no films have done more for a country’s reputation than the Lord of the Rings trilogy. All three movies were entirely filmed in New Zealand and the country is now loaded with nostalgic sights for fans. Hands down, the most popular place of pilgrimage is the purpose-built Hobbiton (located near Matamata), where hobbit residences still stand.
