Travel Leaders Group announced a key strategic expansion in the business travel arena with its acquisition of Raleigh, N.C.-based Travel Management Partners (TMP).

The travel management firm will become part of the Travel Leaders Corporate division. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

"As one of the industry's premier business travel organizations, Travel Leaders Group remains focused on organic growth through cutting-edge tools and technology and continued growth through acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic partnerships," said Ninan Chacko, Travel Leaders Group CEO.

"With the addition of Travel Management Partners, two strong and growing businesses are joining forces to create greater opportunities for our customers."

Gabe Rizzi, president of Travel Leaders Corporate and chief sales officer of Travel Leaders Group, said he looks forward to capitalizing on TMP's expertise in serving clients in the federal government, laboratories and pharmaceutical sectors and small and midsize enterprise market.

"This deal combines the capabilities of two leading business travel organizations giving TMP additional resources and a larger network and Travel Leaders Corporate access to new expertise and new opportunities in vertical markets," said Rizzi.

Founded in 1994, TMP is one of the nation's fastest-growing business travel management companies offering a wide range of services to a diverse portfolio of corporate clients.

TMP CEO and President John W. Lewis will serve as a member of Travel Leaders Corporate executive team. No other major changes are expected in TMP's operations as Travel Leaders Group integrates the two businesses.

"This move will only build on what we have achieved over the past 23 years and create more growth opportunities for our company," Lewis said. "Our clients will benefit from an expanded network and access to best-in-class technology."
