Aviation Authority Approves Orlando Airport Expansion

On Wednesday, the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority approved expansion plans for Orlando International Airport.
According to The Associated Press, the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority approved the $1.8 billion expansion plans that will allow construction to begin on the Orlando airport’s south terminal complex.

Initial estimates claim that the construction of the new terminal complex could begin as soon as the first quarter of 2017, and the project’s target completion date is currently scheduled for 2019.
In total, the Orlando International Airport terminal complex will consist of a building space measuring 2.7 million square feet. The construction project will also include up to two dozen new gates and a six-story parking garage.
