British Airways Offers Free Flights For Kids
Airlines & Airports Gabe Zaldivar May 12, 2017

The best part about having kids is the moment they are free.
Sure, seeing them walk for the first time is great. Oh, and the hugs they offer when you walk through the door are amazing and all. But darn if the rug rats aren’t expensive, especially when it comes to travel.
Thankfully, one airline is putting the free in freaking awesome deal.
British Airways (h/t Travel + Leisure), trying to become your best friend for some reason, announced that it would allow travelers to fly up to two kids free between select locations throughout the United Kingdom and other parts of northern Europe.
According to its blog post, the deal is good for children under 12 and families flying from Heathrow and Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Inverness, Belfast and Billund in Denmark.
Families flying with the Euro Traveller ticket can take advantage of the offer as they book from May 10 to October 1 for any trips, including holidays, that take place from June 1 until October 31, 2017.
Of course, the bigger kids, namely you adults in the audience, are integral to this deal. Kids flying free have to be joined by an adult paying full fare.
Adam Daniels, British Airways’ chief commercial officer, explained via British Airways blog: “Saving every penny counts when it comes to family holidays so flying kids for free will make it cheaper to fly away for fun and see more of the UK and Europe this summer.”
British Airways illustrates that these aren’t mere locations ripped out of a hat. Each promises more than a few possibilities for the family.
Daniels continues, “With so many fantastic tourist attractions and activities for kids across Britain, the offer also looks set to give UK tourism a boost by encouraging families to visit London, the North, Scotland and Northern Ireland for their holidays.”
Billund, for example, boasts a wonderful zoo, Sculpture park and, of course, LEGOLAND.
If you’re in Scotland there is no way you should pass up the experience of ambling all the way to the top of the high-perched Edinburgh Castle.
The rest of the destinations listed above promise things like a Titanic day into history (Belfast City), a trip dedicated to the nation’s storied military at the Royal Armouries Museum (Leeds), a spelunking session to see if you can spot the Loch Ness monster (Inverness), a chance to see a cathedral and castle in the same day (Newcastle) and every last vestige of possibilities afforded with a trip to London.
