In honor of its 15th year in operation, JetBlue Airways has revealed a unique "Bluemanity" paint job on one of its Airbus A320 aircraft.
JetBlue states that the new livery serves as a nod to the airline's 16,000 employees and its overall mission.
"In all our JetBlue cities, there are amazing stories of crew members going above and beyond to help our customers and one another," said JetBlue senior vice president Mike Elliott in a statement. "This plane with our values proudly displayed across the fuselage is a tribute to all JetBlue crewmembers, the best in the industry, who take our mission to inspire humanity and make it real every day."
The rear of the plane features a colorful word cloud that includes words that JetBlue says describe the company's core values. Examples include caring, safety, integrity, passion and fun.
On Tuesday, JetBlue's official YouTube account published a two-minute video of workers applying the Bluemanity scheme:
The Bluemanity plane, which also features an emblem in tribute to the granddaughter of a JetBlue employee who had a life-threatening heart condition, has joined JetBlue's fleet of 206 airplanes.
But the eye-catching livery isn't the only exciting plan JetBlue has for its 15-year anniversary. According to the Sun Sentinel's Arlene Satchell, the carrier plans to add nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale and Cleveland and Detroit on April 30.
Beyond 2015, JetBlue aims to increase its presence in Fort Lauderdale to 100 daily flights by 2017. Currently, JetBlue operates about three-fourths of that figure.
