Qatar Airways Qsuite to Debut at Paris Air Show

A physical model of Qatar Airways’ Qsuite, shining from the cabin of a Boeing 777, will highlight the 2017 Paris Air Show at Le Bourget Airport.
The airline announced that it would finally debut a tangible example of the promising new addition to its business class service, a seat arrangement previously examined by TravelPulse’s Rich Thomaselli in March.
This four-person suite can move and shift to be as private or as welcoming as you desire, and it also offers the first business class double bed.
Incidentally, Qsuite is billed as just that, a first-class level of comfort for business class passengers.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said in a statement back in March: “Our unique and patented design is a world-first in many ways and challenges industry norms by offering passengers more privacy, more choice and more personalization. With these innovations, Qatar Airways has revolutionized the way we serve our Business Class travelers enabling our passengers to enjoy a First Class experience in Business Class.
"This is truly Business Class as never seen before and is entirely in keeping with our Premium product and service philosophy.”
Days before the June 19 opening of the Paris Air Show, Al Baker is just as excited about the possibilities of the product, via press release: “The Paris Air Show 2017 presents the perfect platform for Qatar Airways to show to the world its first aircraft fitted with our unique, patented and game-changing product, Qsuite.
"I am sure that our new First in Business Class product will be a key attraction throughout the week for industry, trade, media and aviation enthusiasts alike, demonstrating once again Qatar Airways’ relentless pursuit of innovation and commitment to ensuring the highest-quality experience for our passengers.”
The air show may be a perfect moment for Qatar Airways to showcase its innovations and products as it’s going through a rough patch at the moment.
Middle Eastern governments decided to cut ties and prohibit Qatari-based airlines from passing through their respective airspaces. The nations banning Qatar flights—due to allegations of governmental funds going to terror groups—include Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt.
Despite the policy, Reuters reports the airline is contending that the restrictions have not had a noticeable effect. Al Baker is quoted as saying, “As far as we are concerned, it is business as usual.”

Attendees will get a close look at what promises to be the most luxurious seat in business at the exhibition later this month. Among the sleeker features are TV monitors that slide back to open up two sections of two-seat compartments into a comfortable setting for four.
It’s perfect for couples, families or business folk who just like to fly in style and amazing comfort.
The hardest part of seeing this in person, we imagine, is knowing that you have to fly back home in a normal seating arrangement.
