Virgin Atlantic has unveiled plans to bring its award-winning Clubhouse concept to Los Angeles International Airport.
Set within a relaxing space overlooking the Hollywood Hills, the new 4,000 square foot lounge will become the 11th Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse and is due to open in spring 2015.
Created by the Virgin Atlantic in-house design team, in partnership with Slade Architecture, the space is set to take its design cues from nature. Think sculptural lines and glimmers of gold inspired by that famous Los Angeles sunshine. The team is also working with California-based artists, whose work will be shown alongside pieces from up-and-coming British artists. In common with all the airline’s Clubhouses, the space will allow its people to take center stage and who will aim to make our customers experience as special on the ground as it is in the air.
The food and drink concept will allow guests to taste and share several dishes, creating a relaxed, sociable atmosphere. The food itself will take inspiration from clean, healthy west coast living and at the apothecary-inspired bar, cocktails will be the main event. Healthy juices infused with seeds and spices will be on offer, along with a shot on the side for those who like something a little stronger.
“Los Angeles was the natural choice for our next Clubhouse investment. It is such an important route for us - we have been flying there for 24 years now and we see so much repeat custom especially in our Upper Class cabin," said Reuben Arnold, Brand and Customer Engagement Director at Virgin Atlantic. "Our Clubhouses have always set the standard for airport lounges in terms of experience, service and design and we are delighted to bring our ultimate pre-flight experience to our customers travelling through Los Angeles”.
Entry into the Clubhouse is complimentary for Upper Class passengers travelling between LAX and London Heathrow.
