The long-standing relationship between Los Angeles and Australia is only getting stronger.
Just take a sneak peek at the drawings for the new Qantas Business Class Lounge to come online in 2014. It is slated to open the second half of the year.
It’s a holiday gift that everyone will appreciate. The Tom Bradley International Terminal will be home to the new lounge.
The new Qantas business class lounge looks sleek and sexy with its wood and concrete textures an array of browns, tans and ivory colors.
Two centerpieces will adorn the lounge: a hip bar and a fire pit. Ubiquitous in resorts and spas, the fire pit makes its debut at LAX thanks to Qantas. The bar will specialize in wines from Down Under as well as signature cocktails.

The new lounge is double the size of the old one seating 600 people. It is sure to attract customers who simply must be abreast of the latest and greatest in airport and travel trends.
The lounge will feature an open kitchen harkening back to the tradition in gourmet restaurants. An atrium will bring in the fabled California light.
Travelers will be able to choose from a variety of fresh, regional dishes from both a passed-tray service as well as a much more extensive buffet self-service offering. No self-respecting lounge would be complete without a full barista service.
The love between LA and Australia also continues with an additional daily non-stop service from LAX to Brisbane. This brings the total number of flight to seven a week from six. The non-stop flights started in 2004.
"Our service from Los Angeles to Brisbane is a strong performer and daily flights will provide improved travel options and convenient connections for customers traveling to Queensland from the United States," said a Qantas official.
This means an increased capacity of 15 percent per week on the BNE to LAX route. Cairns is the top Queensland destination for American travelers who connect on to the west coast city of Brisbane.
The LAX to BNE flights are on a refurbished Boeing 747-400 aircraft, in alignment with the Qantas A380 flagship product.
The aircraft is equipped with a three-cabin configuration comprising business, premiumeconomy and economy and includes the full flat skybed in business, and the state-of-the-art Panasonic eX2 In-flight Entertainment system throughout all cabins.
In November 2012, Qantas introduced its new sleep service to give customers flying internationally in Business greater comfort. The sleep service features a mattress, duvet and option for a turndown service offered by cabin crew to improve opportunities to sleep.
