Travel Management Innovation TripActions Raises Remarkable $14.6 Million
Business Travel Gabe Zaldivar January 25, 2017

Business travel doesn’t have to be something mired in archaic forms of reward and incentive. In fact, a new innovation in exactly that regard has just unveiled an impressive round of funding.
TripActions, a business travel solution that incentivizes savings for employees, has announced a healthy $14.6 million in funding at its launch. A press release points to a sizeable sum coming from the likes of Oren Zeev of Zeev Ventures as well as Arif Janmohamed of Lightspeed Venture Partners.
For the uninitiated, TripActions is an innovation that boasts savings for its customers in upwards of 30 percent as employees sent out on the road are encouraged to take better deals in exchange for a wealth of opportunity.
Ariel Cohen, CEO and Co-Founder of TripActions explains: “CFOs and travel managers actually want a good program for their employees that includes a quality booking experience, proactive support on-the-go, with the ability to control and save travel costs. With TripActions, we align motivations of employer and employee to ensure that both come out on top.”

This latest round of funding means TripActions will be more entrenched in the corporate travel world.
Cohen offers thoughts on the Series A support: “Finding the right investor for our company was extremely important for me and Ilan (Twig), this being our second company together.”
Cohen continues on the venture: “Oren is known throughout the startup world, with a proven track record of not just scaling businesses, but more importantly, reinventing business categories with companies like Chegg, Houzz, Audible, and Tipalti. Our partnership with Arif and Lightspeed is so valuable because of their track record building solid companies across industries and optimizing on results. We’re thrilled that Oren and Arif believe in TripActions and our vision of bringing business travel to the digital age and we’re are very excited to be working with him on delivering results for our customers.”
It’s easy to see why TripActions would be a hit with the already 70 clients among its early adopters.
Business travelers have the opportunity to glean loyalty points or rewards such as gift cards and upgrades. That’s enough for many to search out deals, but there is more that infuses the technology throughout the itinerary, such as booking through iPhone or Android apps, access to Uber and Lyft in-app and 24-hour support.
For travel managers, there is also a lot to like, such as a system to track spending and savings information.
TripActions proves you can get a lot more from traveling staff in the form of savings by simply making the process fun, intuitive and well worth their time and effort.
