With its head in the clouds, United Airlines will bring comfort to the skies onboard 15 of its newly-designed Boeing 757-200 aircrafts.
The end result: an added touch of luxury for the business traveler making the frequent cross-country trek.
The airline announced Monday that passengers flying in the direction of its “Premium Service” routes (between Los Angeles and JFK as well as San Francisco and JFK) will have the luxury of unwinding in any of its 28 180-degree flat-beds in BusinessFirst, 42 extra-legroom seats in Economy Plus and 72 seats in economy.
United Airline’s innovativeness does not stop there. Each of the aircrafts’ seats are designed with a built-in monitor (15.4 inches in BusinessFirst and 9 inches in economy), passengers can surf the web with the airline’s inflight Wi-Fi, as well as charge their electronic devices via its power outlets and USB Ports.
“Our investment in these aircraft and in the p.s. service will add greatly to our flyer-friendly customer experience on these coast-to-coast flights," said Jeff Foland, United’s executive vice president of marketing, technology and strategy.
"This is just one more example of the many things we are doing to provide greater onboard comfort and convenience on every United flight.”
Along with a variety of renovations created in air, the airlines also intends to maximize its elite services on ground level by offering a high-tech mobile app compatible with Apple’s iOS 7 program, live television in many of its airplanes.
That's in addition to improvements of the United Club in Seattle, San Diego and Chicago O’ Hare Terminal 2, which come complete with Wi-Fi, modern décor, and complimentary foods.
As of right now, United Airlines is the only airline to offer its customers flatbed seating along an intercontinental route and plans to invest to make further innovative strides in the near future.
