Enterprise Rent-A-Car is one of the largest car rental providers in the world, but it has been the company's commitment to giving back that has helped it become one of the most generous businesses in the industry.
With Friday marking the Arbor Day holiday, what better time to plant some trees?
According to Enterprise, the company is once again teaming with the Arbor Day Foundation to fund the planting of one million trees in 2015 throughout the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Germany.
The Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation is working on its 50 Million Tree Pledge, in which the company plans on funding the planting of one million trees per year for 50 years. This will be the 10th year of the project.
Arbor Day Foundation president Dan Lambe released a statement about the partnership between the two companies and what they hope to accomplish over the next 40 years:
"We are now in the tenth year of this unprecedented partnership. So far, the 10 million trees we've planted together have helped restore critical watersheds in California, Colorado, Florida, Canada, the U.K. and dozens of other forests here at home and around the globe. Through the next 40 years, thanks to the vision and commitment of Enterprise, the next 40 million trees will be planted wherever they will best serve people, our environment and water resources for generations to come."
Thus far, over nine million trees have been planted and the company should reach its goal of 10 million by the end of 2015. Not only is Enterprise working with the Arbor Day Foundation, but they have also teamed with the U.S. Forest Service, U.S. National Park Service, Tree Canada, Trees Ontario, the UK's Woodland Trust and the German Forest Protection Association.
For those who want to see where the company is planting the latest crop of trees, Enterprise has built an interactive section of its website where customers and curious nature enthusiasts can follow the progress.
With Earth Day earlier this week and Arbor Day on Friday, it's clear Enterprise is doing what it can to contribute positively to the environment.
