For Halloween, ridesharing company Lyft is going all out by offering customers everything from zombie deliveries to discounts for the holiday in order to make the festivities more fun.
First, Lyft teamed up with Skybound's "The Walking Dead" to incorporate more scares into its app for Halloween. When users open the company's app, they will see walkers roaming the streets that will represent cars near their location.
Customers in New York or San Francisco will be able to request a free zombie on-demand from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time on Friday, Oct. 30. Yes, you read that correctly, users can order an actor dressed as a zombie.
Whether it's for an office party or just to scare loved ones, the Lyft Zombie Delivery option is the perfect way to usher in the Halloween weekend. Lyft released an official video about the one-day service:
Lyft has also created specific zones in New York, San Francisco and Boston that will offer Lyft Lines at 50 percent less than original Lyft. For those traveling to or from those approved areas, this would be a major discount.
On such a busy night, some customers are worried about potential price gouging, but Lyft has put a cap on what it calls "Prime Time" at 200 percent. When requests outnumber available drivers, the prices climb, but the company has put a limit on Prime Time increases.
Add in an offer for $20 off a customer's first ride, and there is major incentive for Trick-or-Treaters to use the Lyft app during Halloween this year.
