Audi manufactures some of the nicest cars in the world, but for the customers in the San Francisco area that want to rent one of the vehicles, the new Audi on demand can now have a rental car delivered to a member’s home or business.
According to Audi, the company began beta testing its new Audi on demand service Monday that will allow members to rent one of the company’s cars using the iPhone app and have a personal concierge deliver the vehicle wherever needed. There will be no membership fees, and the app can be used to lock and unlock the vehicle.
Customers will be able to rent a vehicle for up to 28 days using the service and can select from a vast array of Audi vehicles, from the Audi A5 (starting at $200 per day) to Audi R8 supercar (starting at $1,285 per day.) Let’s just say the latter is very fast, and not for the faint of heart.
A full list of vehicles and per-day prices can be found on the Audi on demand official website.
Audi of America executive vice president and COO, Mark Del Rosso, released a statement about the partnership between the automobile company and the new on demand service:
“Audi on demand embodies the brand’s core values of technological progress and a love for discovery. The service is rooted in customization, personalization and having the right car for the right moment. While competing services point their customers to vehicles parked on the street, Audi on demand delivers a truly premium experience, with concierges personally delivering and returning vehicles for customers where and when they need them.”
The Audi on demand app is already available to download in the Apple App Store, and it allows members to select which car fits their need and their mood, down to the exact color and trim for available models.
The coolest part is the delivery from the personal concierge service. Not only will a trained employee drop the car off wherever the person needs it in San Francisco, but they can also help the member understand exactly how to utilize all of the car’s options if needed.
As for when the unique and interesting service will be available in the rest of the United States, the company is still working on it will expand to the rest of the country over the next several years.
