Cunard is partnering with Rocky Mountaineer for pre- and post-voyage rail trips when the cruise line returns to Alaska in 2019 for the first time in two decades.
The Queen Elizabeth will offer four 10-night roundtrips from Vancouver, departing May 21, May 31, June 10 and June 20, 2019, as well as cruises to and from Vancouver.
The rail trips are three or five nights in the Canadian Rockies, by glacier- and snow-capped peaks and through river canyons, mountain passes and tunnels. Highlights include the Continental Divide, Kicking Horse Canyon, Spiral Tunnels and the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon.
The Rocky Mountaineer railroad is the only of its kind to travel the historic routes. Since 1990, Rocky Mountaineer has welcomed over 2 million passengers. The experience on the all-dome fleet includes storytelling and top-notch cuisine.
“As we return to Alaska for the first time in 20 years, we are excited to partner with the Rocky Mountaineer, ensuring our passengers enjoy the remarkable scenery and Alaskan wildlife in the utmost of luxury both by land and by sea,” said Josh Leibowitz, senior vice president of Cunard North America.
